Mrs. Kathy Smith

Bio
Mrs. Kathy L. Smith received her BSN degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1981, her MSN degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1995. She completed her EdD in Instructional Leadership in Nursing Education in August 2024 from the University of Alabama. Mrs. Smith is a Certified Pediatric Nurse with over 30 years of pediatric nursing experience. Her main teaching and clinical focus continues to be educating students to provide excellent care of the pediatric patient while also promoting appropriate growth and development of the client. Her dissertation research focused on the competency of senior nursing students and is titled, "Skill Acquisition in Baccalaureate Nursing Programs: Are Students Competent Upon Graduation?"
